Criminal Record Check An administration fee of $25.00 (plus tax) will be charged to your college account and you will be required to pay this fee along with your first semester tuition.

NSCC will only accept the record checks completed by BackCheck. If you have already had a criminal record check completed through your local RCMP or Police Department we still require you to have the detailed check performed by BackCheck. You will receive an e-mail at your College e-mail account containing the link for you to use to complete this requirement. This will happen at the beginning of your study period in your program.

Immunization – A standard immunization form is available. This form is to be completed by your physician.

If you do not have a physician or access to your past immunization records you should contact local Public Health Services as they may be able to assist in seeking verification. If unable to locate this information students can request a blood test to check titres, determining whether your immune levels are acceptable.

Hepatitis B – The Continuing Care program requires Hepatitis B immunization before placements begin. This process requires you to receive 3 injections of the Hepatitis vaccine, the first one needing to be completed 1 month prior to start of the placement. The current student drug plan will cover the cost of this if you start the process after you begin your program at NSCC (September). Please note the drug plan will not cover the Twinrix vaccine.

If you have graduated from high school in 2004 or later, you may have received the vaccine while in grade 4 at school and would probably not require it again. Please check with your family doctor. Any program that places you for work experience with a District Health Authority will require Hepatitis B vaccine.

First Aid CPR - To find a location offering this certification you can contact any local NSCC to find out when training may be offered during evenings/weekends; Saint John Ambulance Office, 1-800-565-5056; or your local Canadian Red Cross to find out when training may be offered in your area.
