2008

About Awards:

Tips for Applying for Awards

Types of Awards:

Award: A catch-all title for non-repayable financial contributions to a student’s education.

Scholarship: Financial award that is generally based on merit (sometimes called an award).

Bursary: Financial award that is generally based on financial need.

Entrance Award: Award that is available to students before they begin a program. These can be internal or external.

Award Categories:

External Award: Award that is offered, administrated and decided upon by an organization outside of the NSCC. These awards are usually open to full-time students and come up during the school year. Applications are submitted to the organization offering the award and are not submitted to NSCC.

Internal Award: Award that is offered, administrated and usually decided by NSCC. Applications are available on our NSCC webpage and are submitted to CSS (Centre for Student Success) at your local campus. These awards are usually open to full-time students and come up during the school year. Most of NSCC’s awards have a deadline of November 30th.
